Before using your new inhaler for the first time, you need to prepare it for use. You can do this by following the Bricanyl usage instructions below:

	Unscrew the cover and take it off.
	Hold the inhaler upright with the blue grip at the bottom.
	Turn the grip as far as it will go in one direction. Then turn it as far as it will go in the other direction, until you hear a click.
	Repeat step 3.
	Your inhaler is now ready to be used.

How to inhale a dose:

	Unscrew the cover and take it off.
	Hold your inhaler upright with the blue grip at the bottom. Next, load a dose by turning the blue grip as far as it will go in one direction. Then turn it as far as it will go in the other direction until you hear a click.
	Holding your inhaler away from your mouth, breathe out gently (as much as is comfortable).
	Place the mouthpiece gently between your teeth and close your lips around the mouthpiece. Then, breathe in deeply through your mouth.
	Remove the inhaler from your mouth and breathe out gently. If you need to take another inhalation, repeat steps 3 to 6.
	Once finished, put the cover back on.
	Make sure to rinse your mouth out with water after each dose.
	Clean your inhaler once a week by wiping the mouthpiece with dry tissue. Never clean your inhaler with water or liquids as this could affect how the medicine works.

How often to use your asthma reliever

This medicine should always be used as prescribed by a doctor. It is used during an asthma attack or when you have breathing difficulties. It can also be used before exercise or exposure to asthma triggers to prevent exercise-induced asthma or symptoms caused by allergens.

Dosages

A red mark at the edge of the indicator window indicates that there are approximately 20 doses left. When the background of the dose indicator is red, it means that you are left with your final 10 doses. This is handy to remind you to order a new inhaler.

Since Bricanyl is only taken when it is needed, you will not 'miss' any doses.

How long does Bricanyl take to work?

The effects of Bricanyl begin within 5 minutes after you have inhaled your dose and last for up to 6-7 hours.
